20th CENTURY PERIOD

Project Info

Project Description

Cameron Construction were engaged to design and build this stunning period style home to be situated on a magnificent country estate.

The building design took many hours of research, to ensure that it would be sympathetic to the 20th century Victorian character for which the style was chosen. What became a credit to the builder and the owner is a beautiful home that looks a hundred years old.

The location is magnificent with a lake, a small dam, several mature oak trees and two large date palms on 3 acres of landscaped grounds. The remainder of the property is natural bush with an abundance of gums and native wildlife including bell birds, black cockatoos, kangaroos and wombats.

Approach to the majestic house is via a circular driveway that surrounds a regal water fountain. The sheer beauty of the property is made extra spectacular at night. The home shines through its gleaming, façade as elegant wrought iron verandah beckons visitors in through the handmade Oregon door.

Upon entry one is immediately struck by grandeur in the opulent entry, where marble floors and large cornices embossed with gold leaf draw the eye towards a massive, sweeping staircase. Overhead, a domed skylight brightens the stairs during the day that are lit by a twinkling chandelier at night.

The formal living and dining room both glow in cream and gold, with black touches to the drapes reflected in the shiny baby grand piano. A white marble fireplace that warms the room is echoed in black in the casual living space, where black takes over from cream and gold’s partner in decorating the room. A huge and well appointed kitchen features all the latest appliances, an island bench as well as a bar. Parquetry flooring spreads the floor with zigzag patterns.

Opulence does not evade at the bedrooms, where drapes, feature walls and wallpaper borders make each luxurious space unique. Same goes for the bathrooms, where traditional features such as claw foot baths, intricate tile work and plumbing fixtures imported from England reflect the building’s past.

But perhaps the most enjoyable room is the gold class cinema room. Plush cream leather chairs provide the more than comfortable seating to enjoy movies and sports on the huge projector screen. A small bar backs the space with a sink and fridge making snacks and beverages easily accessible without missing a moment of the action.
